Day 1

Havana Arrival

At the airport you will be met by a local rep and transferred to your centrally located residence, dinner included. The evening is at your leisure. We recommend wandering through the streets and, perhaps, soaking up the atmosphere and music in a bar whilst sipping on a Mojito.

Day 2

Old & New Havana Tour

Today you will get acquainted with Cuba's capital city during a comprehensive tour of Havana. A highlight is the crumbling splendour of the historic neighbourhood of Habana Vieja (Old Havana), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The centre city is well known as one of the finest example of a Spanish colonial city anywhere in the Americas. Within the tour, there are stops on the impressive Museum of the Revolution, a tobacco house to see the rolling techniques of one of the most famous cigars in the world and also at the Havana Club Rum Museum for an insight into the history of Cuba`s most popular drink; as well as a chance to taste its delights! Lunch will be provided in an authentic Cuban restaurant.

In the more modern parts of the city, you`ll see the beautiful Colon Cemetery, the famous Revolution Square, other highlights of the tour are the Malecón, a seafront drive which stretches almost the entire length of Havana, and the elegant suburb of Miramar. Afterwards, you will visit the home of Ernest Hemingway which has been preserved just as it was when the Nobel Prize winning writer lived there. In the evening, you might want to consider enjoy the magnificent show of the famous Tropicana Cabaret which boasts more than two hundred dancers, a fabulous orchestra and astonishing acrobatic feats. We can arrange tickets for you. (The itinerary may change its schedule depending the opening hours of the visit to the home of Ernest Hemingway)

Day 3

Havana – Soroa – Viñales

Today you will travel to Pinar del Rio province, the most western province of Cuba, on route to Viñales, you will visit Soroa`s orchid garden which have been declared national monument. It has one of the largest orchid collection in the world, with more than 700 species, 250 of them are endemic. Before arriving in Viñales, you will visit a cigar factory and a working tobacco farm where you will learn about the lifestyle of the local farmers, as well as how the tobacco growths. Once in the small village of Viñales, you will enjoy Cuba`s most dramatic landscapes, the beautiful valley of Viñales is surrounded by unusual limestone outcrops known as "Mogotes", this is the world`s best tobacco growing region. A visit here is a great way of gaining an insight into the rural life of Cuba.

In Viñales, the tour include a visit to the Prehistoric Mural where a history of evolution is painted in bright colours on the side of a Mogote, an underground boat ride in the Indian Cave, one of the most fascinating caves of the area. After enjoying this spectacular environment you`ll be served with a traditional Cuban lunch. Then, accommodation on a private home. Evening is free.

Day 4

Viñales – Pinar del Rio – Las Terrazas – Havana

After breakfast, departure to Las Terrazas via Pinar del Rio, the provincial capital, panoramic sightseeing tour of the city, then, the tour continues to Las Terrazas Community, a small settlement that gives a revealing insight into the rural way of life. Las Terrazas is located in Sierra del Rosario Ecological Reserve, the largest UNESCO protected area in the Caribbean and natural habit to one of the greatest concentration of endemic wildlife and vegetation on the island, including the Tocororo, Cuba`s national bird. A wide range of optional activities are also available, among them trekking programs, cycling, horseriding and a specialized guide for those interested in ecology, you may even enjoy the canopy tour.

The tour includes visit to San Juan River where you can swim, the Buena Vista coffee plantation, La Moka Hotel, lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Havana, accommodation in a private house.

Day 5

Havana – Guama – Playa Girón – Varadero

After breakfast, departure to the Montemar Natural Park, within the Zapata Peninsula- the biggest swamp in the Caribbean & home of many endemic animal & botanic species. Boat transfer to the aboriginal village "Guama" also known as "Taino Village", located on the Treasure Lagoon & learn about the pre-Colombian aboriginal way of life, see the sculptures made by the famous Rita Longa. Return to mainland to have lunch at a local restaurant in Playa Larga. After lunch the next stop will be on the historic Bay of Pigs where you`ll see the actual place where US forces landed during the 1961 invasion of Cuba, as well as visiting a fascinating museum about the invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis. The tour will continue to Varadero where you will be accommodated on an all inclusive resort.

Day 6

Varadero

Free days at the beach during which you can enjoy the warm turquoise water (we suggest trying some snorkelling or maybe a catamaran trip – or perhaps even swimming with dolphins!) and make use of all the services and facilities provided by your all-inclusive resort.

Day 7

Varadero

Varadero – Departure

During the morning you`ll enjoy some additional free time before being collected from your hotel in the afternoon and taken to the airport for your flight home.
